Scope and Contents Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Alred Acton in Sweden. Pendleton writes that Leonard (Gyllenhaal?) has sent Acton a check to purchase the papers of Fru Ehrenberg. Pendleton mentions a letter by (John) Clowes which he hopes to acquire for the Academy. There has been a disagreement over who should teach the subject of exposition in Acton's absence. Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Charles E. Doering in Dunfield, NJ, USA. Pendleton reports that it was decided at a meeting of the teachers in Bryn Athyn to delay opening the Schools until Oct. 2nd. Pendleton would have preferred to open at an earlier date, but there were too many difficulties involved. While Pendleton thinks this arrangement is for the best, it will be very inconvenient for him as he will have to leave for Glenview a day or two after opening.

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Charles E. Doering in Dunfield, NJ, USA. Pendleton had received Doering’s letter of Sept. 7th. With the open of the schools delayed, it will not be necessary for the teachers to meet until Sept. 29th. Pendleton is glad that Mr. Weirbach is going to send his boy to school in Bryn Athyn and does not think there will be any difficulty in making the arrangements as the Farrington children have nearly the same arrangement.

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Charles E. Doering in Dunfield, NJ, USA. In thinking over Mr. Price’s request, Pendleton decided that there should be a general policy for the absence of teachers from the school for the purpose of doing other work. Pendleton met with the available Board members, Raymond (Pitcairn) and Ed (no surname given, probably Edward C. Bostock), and they approved of his suggested policy.
