 Item
Identifier: RG.004.01
Scope and Contents Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Albert Bjorck in Bath, England. Bjorck’s letter of December 4th has arrived, along with the latest number of the “New Church Standard”. Pendleton found Bjorck’s article about the Lord as a person very enjoyable. Pendleton’s only suggestion about the Standard is that Bjorck should try to make it distinct from other New Church periodicals to avoid duplication. In Bryn Athyn, they are now preparing for the February Ministers’ Meetings. Pendleton expects...

Identifier: RG.004.01
Scope and Contents Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Albert Bjorck in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Pendleton has read Bjorck’s paper on “The Visible God of the New Church” in the December issue of the Life and found it “an exceptionally clear statement of our faith on the subject”. He hears that there is a second section of the paper which has not been published, in which Bjorck’s thoughts vary from the view presented by Pendleton in his earlier article on “Humanizing the Divine”. Pendleton is curious and...

Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Albert Bjorck, c/o Mr. E. Morel Leonard, Bryn Athyn, PA. Pendleton is sorry that a spirit of acrimony has arisen in the discussion of Mr. Pfeiffer’s views. Pendleton thinks that Bjorck will understand that Mr. Caldwell has limited space (in the Life?) and must be severe in restricting communications. Pendleton asks if Bjorck would like the copies of the letters between himself (Bjorck) and Mr. Caldwell returned.

Identifier: RG.004.01
Scope and Contents Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Eldred Edward Iungerich in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. Pendleton advises Iungerich that it is important not to confuse District Assemblies with society meetings. Pendleton recommends that pastoral reports of district activities be presented at assemblies rather than society meetings. It may be necessary for Pendleton to appoint a Bishop’s representative for the next assembly, but it is too early to say. The Bishop should administer the sacraments to the...

 Item
Identifier: RG.004.01
Scope and Contents Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Ernst Deltenre in Brussels, Belgium. Pendleton regrets that no conclusion has been reached about sending a minister to Mauritius. Mr. (Eldred) Iungerich is the only one who could go on short notice, but now it appears he may be needed in Stockholm as Mr. Stroh is slow in recovering. Pendleton wishes the Mauritians could send a young man to Bryn Athyn to train for the ministry as this would present a permanent solution. Deltenre will see from the...
