In response to Starkey’s letter he writes, “I am much pleased to hear of your appreciation of my South African letter. One often feels that the results of one’s labours go for little or nothing, simply because there is no perceptible response. It is human so to feel, yet Providence would train us to work for the joy of it.”

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. John Headsten in Chicago, IL, USA. Headsten’s letter of May 16th with report enclosed has been received and presented at the recent meetings. Pendleton reports that the Assembly was a success, and he is sorry that Headsten was unable to attend. Of the Assembly, Pendleton writes that there was “a realizing sense of the great mission for which the Church stands, and as well a distinct feeling of encouragement for the future.”
