Scope and Contents

The Harold C. Cranch Family Papers contains primarily correspondence to and from friends and family.  There is a series of correspondence with the Academy of the New Church regarding their children as students that may warrant privacy concerns for children still living.  There are also several small folders on non-family topics.

The papers are arranged into 4 major series - Correspondence, Family History, Other and Professional.  The Correspondence series is divided into folders by sender and/or recipient.  Family History contains one folder with various programs, wedding announcements & invitations, birth notices, etc.  Folders in the Other category are Family History, Homeopathy, Middle Earth Studios, Professional and Stained Glass. Method of Acquisition

Donated to the Academy of the New Church Archives at Swedenborg Library (Bryn Athyn College) by Clark Echols.  Mr. Echols wife (deceased) was the daughter of Harold and Jean Cranch.

Appraisal Information

Removed unrelated newpaper clippings, several medically related items (eyeglass prescriptions, etc.), greeting cards without correspondence attached and various catalogs
