Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Waelchli, 1923-05-11
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Waelchli in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. Pendleton writes, “I read with much interest your letter with reference to the affairs in Detroit. The state there seems propitious for a sounder development. If the more sturdy doctrinal element will clearly realize the very real danger to the Church from the permeation theory and if they will stand firmly against it (as now appears) the future of the Church in that city will be assured, and all lovers of the Church will have cause for satisfaction.” In Bryn Athyn, they are beginning to prepare for school closing exercises and the opening of the Assembly. Pendleton reflects, “How the years go by, one after the other; before many more have passed you and I will be old men. Think of it. To me it seems quite impossible. I suppose something eternally young within us produces this sense of youth despite age.”
