Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Waelchli, 1923-04-05
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Waelchli in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. Pendleton has received Waelchli’s letters of the 2nd and 3rd. Pendleton discusses Waelchli’s upcoming episcopal trip to the west coast. If the Denver Society is too far out of the way, Pendleton thinks Waelchli should skip it, especially as the matter he was hoping Waelchli would look into may be settled by then. He hopes to have Henry Heinrichs placed in Denver by September. Pendleton has heard from Erdman (Heinrichs) that they have raised about $100. Pendleton has heard a rumor that Homer Synnestvedt might go to Denver in the summer. Pendleton also comments on Detroit, writing, “The ferment in Detroit has elements of interest. The permeationists will themselves be permeated and in time vanish from the Church.” Pendleton finds the letter from Mr. Nutter “enlightening” but reminds Waelchli that he and his society on the west coast belong to Convention. Names mentioned: (Henry) Heinrichs, Erdman (Heinrichs), Homer Synnestvedt, Mr. (Edward H.) Nutter
