Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Waelchli, 1920-04-06
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Waelchli in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. Pendleton has received Waelchli’s letters of March 4th and 23rd. Waelchli’s thoughts on evangelism align with Pendleton’s; They both believe, “If a thing is to be received, delight rather than antagonism must first be roused in the recipient.” At a recent meeting, Pendleton brought up the subject of Waelchli’s evangelical work in the Canadian Northwest and the fact that his travel allowance has not been sufficient. Pendleton believes the travel allowance will be increased at their next budget meeting. When asked about the future of Waelchli’s work in the Northwest, Pendleton responded that they hope to continue this work for two or three more years until a younger man, perhaps Henry Heinrichs, can be stationed there permanently. Pendleton urges Waelchli not to miss the June meetings this year as they are expecting Messrs. Tilson, Ottley, Deltenre, Baeckstrom, and Hussenet. They are also counting on the presence of every member of the Executive Committee. Names mentioned: Henry Heinrichs, (Robert J.) Tilson, (Glendower) Ottley, (Ernst) Deltenre, (Gustaf) Baeckstrom, (Ferdinand) Hussenet, Freda Pendleton
