Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Waelchli, 1915-11-16
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Waelchli in Berlin, Canada. General Church of the New Jerusalem letterhead. Pendleton will address the men’s meeting in Berlin if Waelchli provides a suitable topic. There are several reasons that prevent holding the mid-year Consistory meetings in connection with the Joint Council meetings. They still hope to hold one Consistory meeting after the Joint meetings are over and possibly one before. Some have expressed their feeling that the Joint meetings should not be held “under the shadow of the Consistory.” Pendleton writes that Waelchli should use his judgement on whether to comply with Mr. Childs’ request; The type of material submitted will depend upon whether the proceedings of these meetings are published or not. Pendleton writes the, according to the order of the Church, “a pastor should send his resignation to the Bishop, who will then communicate the fact to the society with a view to making arrangements for a successor.” Names mentioned: Mr. Childs
