Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Waelchli, 1914-12-02
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Fred E. Waelchli in Berlin, Canada. Pendleton has received Waelchli’s letters of November 4th and 17th, sent respectively from Middleport and Berlin. He is glad Waelchli is pleased with the results of his trip to Cincinnati and Middleport. Pendleton was unable to answer sooner due to prolonged illness. Waelchli’s letter of the 4th was discussed by the Consistory, and they will consider his letter of the 17th at their next meeting. Pendleton notes Waelchli’s comment about the importance of stationing someone in Middleport who can also look after Cincinnati and other nearby New Church centers. Mr. Alden has agreed to visit twice a month, but Pendleton wishes they had enough money and ministers to position someone there full-time. They currently have only one theological student, and he will return to Sweden upon completion of his degree. Pendleton looks forward to having Olivia with them for Christmas, and he reports that Mr. Klippenstein has been offered a scholarship for the Boy’s School. Names mentioned: Mr. Alden, Mr. (Colon) Schott, Mr. Merrel (Charles Merrell?), Olivia (Waelchli Childs), Mr. (Peter?) Klippenstein
