Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Robert J. Tilson in London, England. Pendleton has received Tilson’s last letter and note with an enclosed letter from Dr. Iungerich concerning affairs in France. He agrees with Tilson that there was really no place for Mr. Henderson in England, though he did try his best. Pendleton presumes Henderson is now, or shortly will be, on his way to Australia where he will hopefully find enough of a base to establish a permanent society. Pendleton would like Tilson to preside over the British Assembly. In the future, unless either Pendleton or the Assistant Bishop are in attendance, Tilson should consider this his duty. Pendleton asks Tilson to address the Assembly for him, writing, “please assure the members of my deep regret that I can not look forward to a trip to England; it may be, not again. Please speak of my love for my friends in England. Delightful memories of past visits come to mind and affect me in a way I can not describe. May the Lord’s blessing rest upon you and all who are present; and may His Providence guide your councils.” Names mentioned: Dr. Iungerich. Mr. (William Cairns) Henderson
