Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Robert J. Tilson in London, England. Pendleton is pleased to have Tilson’s approval and support of the papers published in the May issue of the Life. He appreciates Tilson’ perspective on the “Hague teaching,” stating, “From the beginning, your sense of the danger in that teaching has been a consolation to me.” Pendleton confirms Tilson’s nomination of Mr. Archie Stebbing as a member of the Assembly Committee in place of Mr. Anderson. Pendleton does not plan to attend the British Assembly, and he does not believe DeCharms plans to attend either. The trip is very expensive, and the Church has not yet succeeded in balancing its budget. In Bryn Athyn, Pendleton is currently busy preparing to retire to the mountains at Indian Lake, New York for the summer. He expresses his hope that Tilson’s health will continue to improve. Names mentioned: Mr. James Pryke, Mr. Archie Stebbing, Mr. (Roderic Whittington?) Anderson, Bishop (George) DeCharms
