Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Robert J. Tilson in London, England. At a recent meeting of the Board of Directors, Pendleton read aloud Tilson’s letter of August 20th regarding the discontinuation of the Burton Road school. The members were distressed and refused to accept its permanent closing. As a result, they resolved to pass a resolution in January to continue payments to the Burton Road school for one year in the hopes of its revival. Pendleton also inquires whether Tilson’s society has a Sunday school, and, if so, whether Miss Dowling could use it to continue the children’s education for the time being. Names mentioned: Miss Glanville, Miss Dowling (Kate Madeline Dowling?)
