Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Robert J. Tilson, 1927-02-10

 Item
Identifier: RG.004.01

Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Robert J. Tilson in London, England. Pendleton is pleased with the contents of the letter Tilson sent to Mr. Sexton. Pendleton comments that “spiritism” appears to be the “weakness in the situation,” and he congratulates Tilson on his handling of the conversation. If Tilson can arrange to visit Sexton on the Isle of Jersey, the General Church will pay his traveling expenses. If Tilson is in agreement with Pendleton that the next General Assembly should be held in 1928, then Pendleton suggests that they hold the British district assembly this coming summer as usual. He hopes Tilson will agree to act as Assembly president and celebrant of the Holy Supper. Pendleton was distressed to learn of Miss Dowling’s illness, and he hopes she will make a full recovery. Names mentioned: Rev. G. A. Sexton (George Alexander Sexton?), Miss Dowling (Kate Madeline Dowling?)
