Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Robert J. Tilson in London, England. Pendleton discusses Mr. Gyllenhaal’s recent resignation as Pastor of the Peckham Rye society. For the good of the General Church, Pendleton advised Gyllenhaal to leave Peckham Rye and move to Colchester. Pendleton will not officially disband the Peckham Rye society as he wants to leave its members in spiritual freedom, but he hopes they will decide to join either the Colchester or Burton Road societies. He writes to Tilson, “I have every confidence that the strengthening your Society may receive from this source will be of the kind and quality which you will gladly receive.” Names mentioned: Mr. Stebbing, Mr. (Fred) Gyllenhaal
