For the good of the General Church, Pendleton advised Gyllenhaal to leave Peckham Rye and move to Colchester. Pendleton will not officially disband the Peckham Rye society as he wants to leave its members in spiritual freedom, but he hopes they will decide to join either the Colchester or Burton Road societies.
