Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Robert J. Tilson in London, England. Pendleton has enjoyed reading Tilson’s letter of April 11th. He is pleased that Tilson has agreed to act as president and celebrant at the upcoming British Assembly. He comments, “I cannot but feel that the Lord will prosper your meetings, for we take it as of His will that the General Church must continue to serve the great spiritual use for which the Academy was founded, a use which is central to the welfare of the New Church.” In Bryn Athyn, Pendleton is busy preparing for school closing and the ensuing Glenview District Assembly. Pendleton was glad to hear that Gyllenhaal plans to attend as he believes a change and the sea air will benefit Gyllenhaal’s health. They are also expecting Mr. and Mrs. Ridgway of Durban. Pendleton hopes Mr. Ridgway will agree to address the graduates at Commencement. Names mentioned: Mr. (Fred) Gyllenhaal, Mr. (J. H.?) and Mrs. Ridgway
