Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Robert J. Tilson, 1920-04-07
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Robert J. Tilson in London, England. Pendleton is currently busy preparing for the upcoming district assemblies in Philadelphia and Canada, but he wishes to acknowledge receipt of Tilson’s letters of March 3rd and 20th. Pendleton looks forward to seeing Tilson and Mr. Ottley in the United States, and he hopes conditions will change to allow Mrs. Tilson to accompany them as well. Pendleton acknowledges Tilson’s suggestion that this meeting be delayed until next year, but this will not be possible as passage to America has already been booked for Tilson, Ottley, and Mr. Hussenet. Money will be sent to London so that they can book the return passage for themselves. Despite interruptions to transatlantic travel resulting from the War, Pendleton has been assured ships are running fairly regularly between the US and England. However, Pendleton adds, “do not delay in securing your passport, for my experience with Government officials is that they refuse to be rushed.” Names mentioned: Mrs. Tilson, Mr. (Glendower) Ottley, Mr. (Fernand) Hussenet, Cook
