Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Homer Synnestvedt in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. Pendleton has received Synnestvedt’s last letter. He is glad to know Synnestvedt will return to his work when he has recovered from his hospital stay. George (DeCharms) and Pendleton have been discussing Synnestvedt’s pending move to Bryn Athyn to teach in the Academy; Pendleton writes, “Of course, we shall not count on your doing more teaching than is convenient to you; but we realize that that your love for the work is such as to impel you to undertake more than you should. In this, as well as in other matters, you should exercise great prudence, which is a hard thing for a born athlete to learn.” Pendleton also adds that Synnestvedt should not feel guilty about reusing an old sermon, he hears it was well received by those who listened. Names mentioned: George (DeCharms), Edmund Blair
