Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Homer Synnestvedt, 1928-03-03
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Homer Synnestvedt in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. In response to Synnestvedt’s last letter, Pendleton writes that Karl (Alden) is not, strictly speaking, on the list of potential new pastors for the Pittsburgh Society. This is because he is absorbed by his work in Bryn Athyn and has stated he would not go to Pittsburgh if called by the society. However, if the Pittsburgh Society is set on having him, Pendleton thinks there may be a chance he could be convinced to leave Bryn Athyn. Pendleton urges the Pittsburgh Society not to rush into a decision if the choice is not clear. If needed, Pendleton can temporarily assume the pastorate and assign a young minister there to preach. Names mentioned: Karl (Alden), George (DeCharms?)
