Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Homer Synnestvedt in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. Pendleton was pleased to see from Synnestvedt’s letter of March 25th that the Pittsburgh society meeting to go over the report of the Organization Committee yielded favorable results. He was, however, distressed to hear about the Boggess family. He writes, “What can we do? In such an affair one must, I think, exercise charity by regarding all possible extenuating circumstances. But this at best is but a remote way of helping out.” Pendleton has confirmed with Glenview, Toronto, and Kitchener that they are each willing to host a theological student over the summer. He would like to know as soon as possible if Pittsburgh is also willing to host a student so that specific assignments can be made. Mr. Doering will soon arrive in Pittsburgh, and he can inform Synnestvedt of any news from Bryn Athyn. Names mentioned: Boggess family, Mr. (Charles) Doering
