Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Homer Synnestvedt in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. Pendleton has received Synnestvedt’s letter of March 15th with the enclosed report of the Organization Committee. He comments, “I am especially glad to note that the committee after considerable research was confirmed in the finding that the church government as we have it, is founded on the principles revealed in the Writings. This is an excellent result and should have a stabilizing influence.” Pendleton is currently working on finding summer placements for theological students. According to the plan outlined at the February Pastor’s meeting, the General Church will pay travelling expenses and a small stipend, and the societies will provide room and board to their assigned theolog. Pendleton suggests that Pittsburgh’s theolog could either go to Middleport during the summer break, or Pittsburgh might try holding services throughout the summer instead. Pendleton would like to hear from Synnestvedt regarding the society’s wishes as soon as possible.
