Letter from N.D. Pendleton's secretary to Rev. Homer Synnestvedt, 1923-09-26
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton's secretary, Freda Pendleton, to Rev. Homer Synnestvedt in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. F. Pendleton apologizes for not answering Synnestvedt’s letter sooner. She writes that the Bishop’s speech was delivered extemporaneously and later written down by Randolph (Childs). She was unaware that Synnestvedt had a copy of the paper, but she would like to have it for the Church’s files when Synnestvedt is finished with it. F. Pendleton was glad to hear that Synnestvedt’s school in Pittsburgh had a successful opening. She has also been very excited to read about Miss Champion’s New Church school in Durban, SA. She writes, “I am too old for many thrills, but this is something extra, and I am so proud of our Theta Alpha girls, they are doing so much to help Hugo, carrying out one of our principle reasons for being, and justifying our existence.” Names mentioned: Randolph (Childs), Miss (Elsie) Champion, Theta Alpha, Hugo (Odhner)
