Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton's secretary, Freda Pendleton, to Rev. Gilbert Haven Smith in Glenview, IL, USA. F. Pendleton has received Smith’s letter of January 19th. She thanks Smith for his prompt reply in sending in his annual report, and comments, “You may have noticed that the year is up on the first of January so that any time after that would be the time to send it.” She notes that there is a problem with ministers losing the blanks sent to them for their yearly reports; She has already sent an extra blank to Mr. Synnestvedt. She hopes this problem may be avoided in the future by sending the blanks to the ministers’ secretaries. She informs Smith that the Bishop never received an application for Mildred Stahl so she will need to send in another. F. Pendleton is inviting Gladys (Blackman?) to attend the joint faculty and clergy meetings in Bryn Athyn. George DeCharms has gone to Florida for a couple of weeks to recoup his health. F. Pendleton is glad he will be in the same town as the Nelsons, who she feels will take good care of him. Names mentioned: Mr. Synnestvedt, Mr. Alden, Mildred Stahl, Gladys (Blackman?), George DeCharms, Fidelia (Asplundh DeCharms), the Nelsons, Nora (Potts Smith)
