Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Gilbert Haven Smith in Glenview, IL, USA. Pendleton has received Smith’s letters of March 29th, April 1st, and April 3rd. Pendleton writes that Smith’s final decision not to hire Mr. Cranch as principal of the Glenview church school seems to be for the best under the circumstances; Hiring him would have upset the other teachers and, additionally, there were questions about his ability to manage boys.
