Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Gilbert Haven Smith, 1922-06-12
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Gilbert Haven Smith in Glenview, IL, USA. Smith’s letter of May 16th containing suggestions for the upcoming General Assembly arrived shortly before Pendleton departed for the Canadian Assembly, and the Consistory has only now been able to discuss it. Unfortunately, before the Consistory could come to any conclusions, Mr. Alvin Nelson arrived with more pressing matters to discuss. Pendleton feels that several of Smith’s suggestions, including a “Grand Ball,” no longer seem relevant anyway as they are not feasible. Pendleton will assign papers, preaching, etc. for the Assembly with the advice of the Consistory. Nelson put forth a suggestion that the annual meeting of the Corporation and the Faculty be held in Glenview in connection with the Assembly; This suggestion will be considered further at a later date.
