He informs Smith that the Joint Council “enthusiastically approved” of the Immanuel Church’s invitation to host the 1923 General Assembly. He writes, “I am greatly pleased and encouraged because of the spirit shown by the Immanuel Church in this undertaking. Bryn Athyn willingly divides the honors with Glenview. I wish it were possible for some of our other Societies to entertain an Assembly.”
