Letter from N.D. Pendleton's secretary to Rev. Gilbert Haven Smith, 1920-06-11
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton's secretary, Freda Pendleton, to Rev. Gilbert Haven Smith. F. Pendleton writes, “The Bishop has received your letter of the 8th asking for authorization to buy wine (!) or words to that effect, and I hasten to forward you the same, hoping it will suffice, and that it is what you want. It is the first of the kind the Bishop has had to do, - - so far. I daresay there will be others coming along with the same request. Isn’t it outrageous.” She encloses the form from the Bishop and writes that she hopes to see Smith in Bryn Athyn for the upcoming meetings. Names mentioned: Nora (Potts Smith)
