Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Joseph E. Rosenquist in Gothenberg, Sweden. Pendleton has received Rosenquist’s letter of Jan 16th. He was glad to hear of Mrs. Rosenquist’s action regarding the Theosophical Society, and he has received and approved her application for membership in the General Church. Pendleton was also glad to learn that both Mr. and Mrs. Rosenquist signed the application to the King for recognition by the State. As a result of the War, the mailing system in Europe is unreliable, and Rosenquist never received notice that the Extension Committee withdrew funding of the Gothenburg Circle. Pendleton is sorry for the inconvenience and expense this has caused Rosenquist, and he will have Mr. Alden write to Rosenquist to address the situation. Pendleton regrets that there are no positions available in the Church at this time, but he will keep Rosenquist in mind in case something opens up. There will be a General Assembly in Bryn Athyn in June, at which time a new Bishop will be chosen; Pendleton hopes to hear from Rosenquist on the occasion, and to meet him in person in Sweden again once the War has ended. Names mentioned: Mrs. (Anna Beata Von Sydow) Rosenquist, (Carl Theophilus?) Odhner, Mr. (Christian Nikolaus?) Bromberg, Mr. (Alfred Theodore) Dahlberg, Mr. (George Edward?) Lunden
