Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Theodore Pitcairn, 1936-02-26
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Theodore Pitcairn at Chateau les Pleignes, Grez sur Loing, Seine-et-Marne, France. Pendleton has received Pitcairn’s letter with news that he intends to return to pastoral work in Bryn Athyn. Pendleton is glad Pitcairn will return, but he wishes Pitcairn could make an additional “interim trip” to attend the spring Ministers’ Council meeting. There are also certain questions regarding the future of the South African Mission for which Pitcairn’s presence would be very useful. Pendleton has just received a cablegram informing him of the burning of Mr. Elphick’s house while Elphick was away on a missionary trip; Pendleton hopes this misfortune will not seriously interfere with the Mission. Names mentioned: Mr. (Frederick William) Elphick
