Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Theodore Pitcairn, 1931-01-12
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Theodore Pitcairn at Chateau de la Motte, Thoury-Ferrottes, Seine-et-Marne, France. Pendleton has received Pitcairn’s letter of December 23rd, along with the cablegram which arrived 2 days later stating Pitcairn’s decision not to attend upcoming ministers’ meetings in Bryn Athyn. Pendleton writes, “I greatly regret your decision, and hope that you will find it possible to come later. I sympathize with you in the matter of having your statement reversed in its meaning in the published account of your speech. I have had a similar experience, and was not a little disappointed. This has been a troublesome year in more ways than one. I shall be glad when we have passed through the clouds.”
