Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Ernst Pfeiffer, 1931-05-12
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Ernst Pfeiffer in The Hague, Holland. Pendleton comments briefly on the ongoing disagreement between Mr. Odhner and Pfeiffer regarding doctrinal statements made in De Hemelsche Leer. He writes, “It is useless to discuss further the question as to whether such expressions as ‘high sounding claims,’ contained in Mr. Odhner’s article, warrant your counter charge that his review is ‘nothing but a course personal abuse.’ As to this, I have expressed my opinion. However, as you now stipulate a public apology in the New Church Life, by Mr. Odhner, as the price of withholding from publication your characterization of his review, I can only say that Mr. Odhner has informed me that he has no apology to make.” Names mentioned: Mr. Odhner
