Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Ernst Pfeiffer, 1927-09-08
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Ernst Pfeiffer in The Hague, Holland. Pendleton has received Pfeiffer’s letters of August 26th and July 27th with the financial report of the First Dutch Society enclosed. Pendleton congratulates Pfeiffer on the progress made in Holland over the last year. He notes Pfeiffer’s public lectures, baptisms performed, increased subscriptions to “De Ware Christelijke Godsdienst,” and the institution of monthly suppers. Pendleton answers Pfeiffer’s questions about the structure and functioning of the General Church Executive Committee. Pendleton is making an effort to include at least one member from each of the Church’s leading societies on the Executive Committee; At present, they have representatives on the Committee in England, Sweden, and South Africa. If Pfeiffer is not certain about his choice of laymen from The Hague to serve on the Committee, Pendleton recommends the matter be delayed.
