Letter from N.D. Pendleton's secretary to Rev. Ernst Pfeiffer, 1922-10-02
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton's secretary, Freda Pendleton, to Rev. Ernst Pfeiffer in The Hague, Holland. F. Pendleton answers Pfeiffer’s questions regarding proper record keeping. She explains that it is difficult to know if the Church’s baptismal records are correct as they must rely on ministers to report the baptisms they perform. F. Pendleton did manage to find a record of baptisms performed by Mr. Deltenre, which she suggests Pfeiffer might compare to Deltenre’s personal records, if he has kept them. Most ministers have developed their own system of record keeping; In Bryn Athyn, they have a book, two inches thick, for recording all ceremonies and sacraments. Postscript, F. Pendleton adds that her father (W. F. Pendleton) has received Pfeiffer’s request for a portrait and will send one as soon as they can arrange to have it made. Names mentioned: Mr. Alden, Mr. (Will) Caldwell, Mr. (Ernst) Deltenre, Mr. Odhner
