Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Ernst Pfeiffer, 1922-07-29
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Ernst Pfeiffer in The Hague, Holland. Pendleton advises Pfeiffer on the administration of Church matters, including discussion of the age at which young adults can answer for themselves spiritually. He writes, “The essential matter is that of rational thought and freedom of action, and not simply the age in years. Some are in state men at eighteen, others not even when they are twenty-one.” Pendleton also notes that Jnne (Jone?) Weijer’s General Church application has been accepted and her certificate of membership will be forwarded. Names mentioned: Dr. Van der Teen (Dr. Feiko Van der Feen), Miss Jnne Weijer (Jone Weijer)
