Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton

Identifier: RG.004.01

Scope and Contents

Handwritten letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton. No date. Pendleton discusses the recent controversy in Bryn Athyn: “I have been enjoying a rest after the strenuous days in Bryn Athyn. Whether from a reaction of spirits I know not- but I am feeling that the peace compact recently struck in B. A. is more apparent that real- not that anyone will at the present time pursue an aggressive campaign- but that we must make up our minds to look forward to certain differences in the future as inevitable. I still feel that safety for our Church lies in minimizing personal differences + difficulties while holding firmly to the central idea that vaccination and like external matters must not be forced on the common conscience of the Church.”
