Handwritten letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton. Circa 1904 CE. The Committee has decided to employ Miss Evelyn Gilmore as the new Pittsburgh school teacher. Walter Brickman’s application was turned down as the Committee felt “a lady teacher was the first necessity of a school such as ours.” Pendleton inquires whether W.F.P. has heard of the engagement of Arthur Lechner and Esther Boggess.
