Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton
Scope and Contents
Handwritten letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton. No date. Pendleton states his plans to attend the meetings in Berlin and present a paper if desired. He hopes to be able to bring Beatrice with him. Regarding their approach to the meetings, Pendleton writes, “I feel that greater toleration without yielding any of our principles is the true and the strong position for us to take . . . The truth will conquer by its own weight.” As an apology for the “lack of courtesy” shown to the Glenview Society at the last Convention, the Chicago Society has invited them to join in their 19th of June celebrations. The Glenview Society was unable to accept, but the gesture is appreciated. Names mentioned: Beatrice (Walton Childs Pendleton)
