Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton, 1913-12-29
Scope and Contents
Handwritten letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton. Sentiments in the Pittsburgh society have changed; Homer (Synnestvedt) is now the Society’s first choice for pastor, followed by Eldred (Iungerich) and Gilbert (Smith). Gilbert was previously favored by the Committee, but opinions changed after his ability was questioned. Although there is some doubt over whether Gilbert will accept a call to Pittsburgh, Pendleton sent him a message last night asking if he would consider the position. Beatrice is currently in Bryn Athyn trying to find housing for the family once they move. Pendleton hopes she will be successful. Names mentioned: Homer (Synnestvedt), Eldred (Iungerich), Gilbert (Smith), Will (Caldwell), Beatrice (Walton Childs Pendleton)
