Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton, 1913-08-14
Scope and Contents
Handwritten letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton. Shaftesbury Hotel, Colchester letterhead. Pendleton reports that the Assembly in Colchester was a success. Members from several different countries were present, including the United States, Canada, Belgium, Holland, and Sweden. There were several interesting speeches, and accounts were given of the Church work being done in Brussels and Sweden. Of the Assembly, Pendleton writes, “That which impressed me most was the feeling that the meeting was much more than an assembly of the two societies of London and Colchester- As if by chance there was a gathering from many quarters. . .” Pendleton, Beatrice, and Alfred Stroh will depart in the evening for Sweden. Mr. Pitcairn and Mr. Deltenre have returned to London. From London, Pitcairn will go to Switzerland, and Pendleton expects to meet him later in either Holland or Belgium. Names mentioned: Mr. (Ernst) Deltenre, Mr. Bergstrom, Mr. (W. Rey) Gill, (Alfred) Stroh, Mr. (John) Pitcairn, Ora (Pendleton)
