Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton, 1913-04-08
Scope and Contents
Handwritten letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton. Llewellyn David will be filling the pulpit in Pittsburgh while Pendleton is away in Europe over the summer. The Committee has decided to put David up in a boarding house instead of a church member’s home as many members will be away for the summer. David should arrive in Pittsburgh about June 10th so that Pendleton may go over the service with him. Pendleton and his wife, Beatrice, will sail from New York on June 28th and will depart for home on Sept. 3rd. They will travel from Paris to Brussels, the Hague, Colchester, London, Copenhagen, and finally Stockholm. Due to the inconvenient timing of the Colchester Assembly, Pendleton suggests that cancelling the Copenhagen/Stockholm leg of the trip might yield better results overall. Pendleton hopes W.F.P. will arrange his upcoming trip to Pittsburgh so that “we (Pendleton and W.F.P.) can have the talks you (W.F.P.) spoke of, either before or after my Cincinnati-Middleport trip.” Names mentioned: Mr. (Llewellyn) David, Beatrice (Walton Childs Pendleton)
