Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton, 1913-03-03
Scope and Contents
Handwritten letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton. Pendleton was glad to learn of W.F.P.’s upcoming visit to Pittsburgh in May, and he hopes W.F.P. will arrange to preach for them. Pittsburgh will not be closing its Church this summer in order to provide continued work for the theological students. Pendleton has booked second cabin passage for himself and Beatrice on the Oceanic from New York to Southampton. He has been having trouble booking return passage as they are traveling at the height of the summer season. He informs W.F.P. that his current plan is to “continue on to Stockholm return to London and after the Assembly go to the Hague and last is Paris. . .” Pendleton has been struggling to figure out how much the trip will cost, but he estimates it will cost him five to six hundred dollars to bring Beatrice. Pendleton wonders if W.F.P. will communicate this to Mr. Alden, or if he should write to Alden himself with a more detailed estimate. Names mentioned: Mr. Alden, Beatrice (Walton Childs Pendleton)
