Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton, 1911-03-16
Scope and Contents
Handwritten letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton. Pendleton has been considering W.F.P.’s invitation to visit Bryn Athyn. In order for Beatrice to leave, Ora would need to stay home from school to look after the family. As for Pendleton, he is dealing with several unusual expenses right now, and traveling at this time does not seem wise. However, Pendleton’s children are always hoping to spend the summer in Bryn Athyn, and Pendleton hopes to make this happen sometime in the next few years. Pendleton was pleased to learn of Homer’s interest in the Philadelphia Society, and he comments the upcoming trip to England will be good for Homer. Pendleton also notes the discouraging situation in the Chicago Society and hopes that things there will improve. Names mentioned: Beatrice (Walton Childs Pendleton), Ora (Pendleton), Homer (Synnestvedt)
