Earlier the same day, Pendleton wrote to W.F.P. and Mr. Doering rejecting the position in Bryn Athyn offered by the Board of Directors as the salary offered was too low. After having added up receipts, Pendleton has now calculated that his income for the previous year was $3,092.50, and so the proposed salary would represent about a 1/3rd reduction of income. As things are, Pendleton struggles to put aside even a small amount of yearly savings.
