Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton, 1910-03-07
Scope and Contents
Handwritten letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton. Pendleton has not yet heard from Erie regarding his upcoming visit. Mr. Gladish would like Pendleton to make an additional stop in Columbus on his way to Cincinnati, but Columbus has not contacted Pendleton directly about this. During his recent visit to Renovo, Pendleton reports finding significant dissatisfaction with Mr. Whitehead’s work there over the summer, especially from Joe Kendig. Pendleton told the members that they should report any complaints to the Bishop, but they responded that they would prefer Pendleton to “straighten the matter out” with the Bishop, as they did not want to damage Whitehead’s future. If W.F.P. would like to investigate the matter, Pendleton will inform him of the complaints made against Whitehead. Pendleton reports that this trip was “one of the most arduous [he] [has] ever taken” and that he is still recovering from it. Names mentioned: Mr. (Willis Lendsay) Gladish, Mr. (William) Whitehead, Mr. Joe (Joseph R.) Kendig
