Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton, 1908-02-04
Scope and Contents
Handwritten letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton. Mr. Ed. Fuller would like to apply, through Pendleton, for a scholarship so that his son Marshall may attend the Academy next year. Pendleton writes that Marshall is deserving, and he hopes W.F.P. is in a position to grant this request. Several boys from the Pittsburgh Society are planning on attending the Academy in the upcoming year: Harold and Donald Lindsay, Homer Schoenberger, and George Macbeth. As the boys’ former teacher, Venita can inform W.F.P. about them. Pendleton has received W.F.P.’s letter with Miss Beekman’s paper enclosed. He writes, “Please express to her my appreciation. If I should attempt to write to her about the things in her papers which interest me, I should not know where to begin or stop. . . I look forward to seeing her and on some favorable occasion going over certain matters not only in connection with her own, but also my intellectual interests.” Names mentioned: Mr. Ed Fuller, Marshall (Fuller), Harold Lindsay, Donald Lindsay, Homer Schoenberger, Mrs. Macbeth, George Macbeth, Venita (Pendleton), Miss (Lilian Grace) Beekman
