Handwritten letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton. Pendleton has received an application from Walter Brickman for the position of teacher in the Pittsburgh school. Pendleton will also write to Homer (Synnestvedt) as Brickman has recently been working under him. Stating his personal opinion, Pendleton writes, “While my own view has always been clear that in such a school as ours a lady teacher is indispensable, still I feel that his application should receive every consideration.” Names mentioned: Walter Brickman, Homer (Synnestvedt)
