Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton, 1905-04-22
Scope and Contents
Handwritten letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton. Pendleton hopes W.F.P. will agree to preach in Pittsburgh on the Sunday between the Ministers Council and the Teachers Meeting. The Pittsburgh Society is looking forward to the upcoming meetings, and they are hoping for a large turnout from Bryn Athyn. Pendleton had been preparing a paper on “The Son of Man and The Son of God,” but he has now decided against presenting a paper since he will be hosting the meetings. Pendleton and his wife, Beatrice, both request that W.F.P. bring their sister with him when he comes to Pittsburgh. Pendleton reports that Esther Boggess has resigned as teacher of the Pittsburgh school. Some are anxious to have Miss Gilmore as the next teacher, and they have asked Pendleton to write to her at once. Pendleton refused to write on the ground of “professional courtesy,” but he has received an application from her for the position. Names mentioned: Beatrice (Walton Childs Pendleton), Esther Boggess, Miss (Evelyn) Gilmore
