Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton, 1905-03-07
Scope and Contents
Handwritten letter from N.D. Pendleton to Bishop William F. Pendleton. At the last Committee meeting in Pittsburgh, all were in favor of inviting the teachers as well as the ministers and other church officers to assemble in Pittsburgh in June. Pendleton was shocked to learn that Eleora and Wertha had caught scarlet fever, just as it seemed spread of the disease was slowing. Pendleton recently helped Mrs. Carpenter nurse Paul and Jessie through the fever as well, though he was unaware at the time of the “dread nature” of the sickness. He hopes there will be no further developments for W.F.P.. Postscript, Pendleton adds that the Pittsburgh society is planning an extension to their church building as they need more space. Names mentioned: Eleora (Pendleton), Wertha (Pendleton), Mrs. (Mary Macy?) Carpenter, Paul (Carpenter), Jessie (Carpenter)
