As he has been unable to find a headmaster for the school this year, Pendleton himself will fill that role. Leonard Gyllenhaal and Miss Hanlin are employed as teachers, and Pendleton foresees a successful school year. Several of the Society’s parents are contemplating sending their older children to the Louis Institute as the Church school is too expensive. Pendleton reports that Amena, W.F.P.’s daughter, is preparing to depart for Cleveland. Pendleton and his wife greatly enjoyed having her; She has been very useful to them, and Pendleton believes her health has improved.
