Letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Willard D. Pendleton, 1934
Scope and Contents
Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Willard D. Pendleton. Pendleton gives Willard advice regarding the pastoral role. He writes that a minister may exceed the powers pertaining to his degree, but only in emergencies with the Bishop’s permission. In addition, any rites and ceremonies performed in this manner should be carried out in the Bishop’s name. In the case of a new pastor, the pervious pastoral council will remain in place until a new council is appointed. Pendleton recommends that the Pittsburgh society school be reduced to its capacity to carry. Names mentioned: Gay (Pendleton)
