Scope and Contents

Typed letter from N.D. Pendleton to Rev. Glendower C. Ottley in London, England. Pendleton has received Ottley’s letter of Nov. 30th and the manuscript of his upcoming book. Pendleton will read it when he has the opportunity, and he will pass it on to Bishop (W. F.) Pendleton and Mr. Alden as requested. Pendleton is pleased to hear of the biweekly meetings of the General Church priests in London. Pendleton may have the opportunity to attend one of these meetings next summer if all goes well with his travel plans. Pendleton is encouraged by Mr. Tilson’s successful visit to Colchester; He believes the Church’s prospects there are promising. Pendleton confirms that his daughter Marion is engaged to Captain Alan Pendleton. Pendleton reports on his recent trip to Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago, and Glenview, and comments that “barring various forms of pestiferous legislation with which we are inflicted in this country, there are definite elements of encouragement in the direction of Church growth.” Names mentioned Bishop (W. F.) Pendleton, Mr. (Karl) Alden, Mr. (Robert J.) Tilson, Marion (Pendleton), Captain Alan Pendleton
